Age: Upper Carboniferous Size: 13.5 cm X 7.2 cm X 1.6 cm
Description: Screw-like bryozoan in fine sedimentary rock. It is named Archimedes because of its corkscrew shape, in analogy to the Archimedes’ screw. The living creature has a mesh attached to the central structure.
