In the halls of Munkácsi Castle, you can see exhibits from all periods of history. Tools from the Stone Age, Copper Age and Bronze Age were found in Transcarpathia during various excavations. There are exhibits made of stone, metal and wood, which are related to the medieval history of the region.

The weapons used by the defenders of the castle to repulse the attacks can be seen separately. We can also find here the Subcarpathian XX. materials about the most important events of the 20th century. In the ethnographic section of the museum, the population of the city and the entire county in the 19th and 20th centuries. we can also see exhibits showing his life and everyday life in the 19th century.

 

THE PICTURE GALLERY OF THE MUSEUM

The works of Transcarpathian painters were exhibited in the picture gallery (Antal Kassai, Jurij Herc, Volodimir Mikita, etc.). In addition to the paintings of Transcarpathian artists, the works of contemporary Ukrainian, Hungarian and Polish artists can also be seen.

 

THE WOODEN CHURCHES OF TRANSCARPATHIA

This is the name of the exhibition of nearly 50 pictures, which shows the unique churches of the county. Eastern and Western church traditions meet in the Carpathians. It is precisely because of this that the form and style of the region's churches is so diverse and rich. At the exhibition, the XVII-XIX. pictures of wooden churches of different styles from the 19th century are visible. And next to them is a collection of icons, which presents the religious art of different regions of Ukraine.

 

PETŐFI AND RÁKÓCZI MEMORIAL ROOM

The Petőfi memorial room vividly presents the poet's life through paintings, drawings, the poet's works and copies of his poetry manuscripts. The Szabadság room presents the Rákóczi family and the Rákóczi freedom struggle with quite a wealth of visual material (portraits, battle scenes, a photocopy of Ilona Zrínyi's letter in Latin to Imre Thököly dated December 22, 1691).
